I don’t think I’m switching from firefox, either. In my opinion, mozilla has done a great job with their browser. If you took a little time to understand it, you can mold it to whatever you need it to be.

Addons is definently what is needed. Thats the reason why I decided to stay with firefox. But google is cool, and they are new, I’m sure in time they will make it more advanced, I mean.. c’mon it’s google.

Add a simple keystroke to change tabs. Sometimes, I just want to scroll through tabs quickly with a simple keystroke rather than reach for the mouse. Firefox can do this via ctrl-tab, but as far as I can tell, based on searches and Chrome’s site, Chrome cannot do this, or allow for programmed keystrokes.

Google has already said they’re working on addons. Just wait, they’ll have it out soon enough. Even with this release they said that addons are coming along quite nicely.

It’s been know to give users gonorrhea. Once that’s sorted out they’ll remove the beta, until then will jsut have to hope and pray we don’t get gonorrhea from it.

but you can also argue Chrome isn’t done due to no plug ins. They don’t even have a Google toolbar for it. The Google toolbar ads more functionality to IE and FF than what Google put in Chrome

Because they still feel major features should be added. Chrome is out of beta because OEMs refuse to ship beta software, and Google will probably make deals with companies like Dell to replace Internet Explorer on the PCs they ship.

Was interested in using Chrome as my primary browser, but when I read that google is trying to destroy net neutrality, I stopped short of using most of their services. even though live search sucks, I set it as my default search, and am reverting back to using my .mac and .live as my primary addresses.

Eitherways, Google did respond to the allegations and it seems that they are still backing Net Neutrality. Today, all is well in Google land, but who knows what is going to happen in the next 10 years. Google might become like Microsoft.

For some reason on my crap P4 system, Chrome is agonizingly slow when typing a search in the address field. It’s fast as lightning on my other systems. other than that, wtg Google, Chrome is a real treat.

Taking it out of Beta is the only way to get manufacturers to include it as default installed software. Gmail doesn’t need to be out of beta because no one has to install it on machines - users sign up on the web. Staying in beta means if something goes wrong, they can say "well, it was in beta…"

I actually quite like Chrome - I - like everyone else I imagine - nearly got my eyes stuck in the back of my head after rolling them at Google trying to take over the world, & obviously Chrome is nowhere near as good as Mozilla (yet) but on the whole I like the browser… only a couple of gripes so far:1. there is no standard ‘Home’ button - had to create my own bookmark for my chosen homepage (suprose suprise, google). 2. Unlike Mozilla, you get no warning box when you x out of multiple browser tabs - a couple of time now I have accidently clicked x & everything closed down - although at least next time you open Chrome, your recently visited sites are shown in large thumbnail view. But apart from these small issues, I likey
