The Mondi isn’t the first WiMAX Mobile Internet Device. The Nokia N810 WiMAX was released a year ago today: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_N810#Nokia_N810 …The Samsung looks very similar :/

No, the N810 WiMax was announced a year ago today, but was cancelled in January, if you actually read the wikipedia article you posted.

It was produced and then cancelled. Otherwise it wouldn’t be available for purchase on Amazon: amazon.com/Nokia-02700T6-Portable-Inter …Nokia: nokia.us/A4954123

I was gonna say, I work for Clearwire and have played around with one of the Nokia’s before. The reason its designed to work with Clearwire is that we are actually WiMax. Most other companies run some sort of 4G that’s not standardized.

"Asked whether Samsung devices would run Windows applications across other operating systems, Khan said Samsung was releasing a software developer kit next month as part of its Samsung Mobile Innovator Program to foster creation of widgets that would allow Windows to run on Android or Symbian."What does that mean?

first as in samsung’s first because there’s already nokia’s 810 and in wimax edition. looks the same too.windows might be better. the support for linux just isnt there

"Windows might be better. The support for linux just isn’t there*", is such a tired, old and no longer true statement constantly parroted by the windows faithful. Especially true in a MID since there’s absolutely nothing you can’t do with a Linux device that you can do with Windows Mobile. Plust the added stability, smaller footprint and inherent security Linux offers. Time to come into 2009 instead of repeating the same old clichés from 5 years ago. *Quote corrected for annoying lack of upper case use.

as much as I despise clearwire, this could be okay if they throw in VOIP. symmetrical 256k for maybe $30/month.I know it’ll never happen.

These kinds of devices really needs vendor support/documentation. As Samsung is a company who can happily do spelling (not grammar!) mistakes on their co.uk site and never, ever supported any OS rather than Windows on desktop level, I’d say be very careful.
Buried for inaccuracy – nokia.us/A4954123 Nokian N810 WiMax was released a while ago. and available for purchase: google.com/products?q=nokia+n810+wimax& …

I’ve never heard anything good about Clearwire so why would I buy a device that only connects to that?! That aside, why would I pay for a device that has no phone and fewer connection options than my current Windows Mobile device? I fail to see any reason at all for this thing.
