I like Bing. I like Google’s response. I like rivalries that are fought this way. I hope this is not the end.

Writing like this shouldn’t be rewarded on Digg. LOL

As a rule of thumb, any site that replaces an s with a z in their name should be avoided.

I almost gave up reading it when, after two (poorly written) paragraphs, he hadn’t said anything useful.

"Global Thoughtz." This is quality journalism, people.

After I tripped over the first couple of badly written sentences, I thought "eh, it’s probably just an honest mistake, the rest should be fine." Boy, was I wrong. I’m assuming English is the writer’s second language.

Best part is the consumer is the winners.

I searched ‘trans fat’ in Googlle and couldn’t find any of these features. But yeah, learned something that I didn’t know about trans fat. Dugg for that.

good rule, but I nominate torrentz.com as an exception.

Google is getting serious about Health. Earlier in the week I heard a story about their campus in Pittsburgh, benefiting from the mind share at U Pitt and Carnegie-Mellon.

bing is not more efficient. and that visual search is just ***** in practise. i do trust google to implement real features in a timely fashion, and throw intersting tests into labs. I love the send cancel in gmail for example. that’s saved my ass a few times. Microsoft on the other hand, I wouldn’t trust their motivations at all. hence them throwing out half baked ***** candyfloss like visual search. all they want, as ballmer said when he threw the chair, is google dead, and microsoft with the money in its pocket. Microsoft, fundamentally, doesn’t give a ***** about user experience. they want the users, because users are market share and profit. if they can get the users anyway, they couldn’t give a flying ***** if the software is a crock of *****. all they want want is the win. for them. They’re a ***** ***** company, that plays for all the wrong reasons. in terms of silicon valley as a playground they’re an oversize, fat, autistic *****, running around with a brick in their hand, trying to cave everyone’s skull in, so they can have their lunch money. i ***** hate the company. although i do really like my 360. so that’s consistency for you.

yeah, while loading the page, firefox gets hung up connecting to something.facebook.com, so thanks for that globalthoughtzzz

Ah, you have got to love what competition does. Just too bad it takes a company with sensible philosophies, even though there are areas where it lacks some, to get the ball rolling. If we didn’t have a google search engine would we have a bing? Seems like an evolutionary arms race that’s just starting to me!

Bing is a joke.

I wish the visual search for images was a bit more visual. Right now it’s incredibly boring to have to sift through a bunch of pictures that appear to be the same size when they really aren’t.I can think of a few feature improvements:1) Tagging. Unlike text search, visual search is a lot harder to associate words with images. If a search engine asked you to tag a few key words with some images, then they could be more accurate with results. I know that Google has a program like this already, but it needs to be a lot more prominent if it wants good results for everything.2) Image zoom: If a picture is 1024×768, I should be able to hover over it to view it in full resolution. It is annoying to have to have to load an entire webpage for one image.3)Drill down search: It should be possible to do a search of items WITHIN a search query. The problem of searching both items to begin with is it seems like search engines spit out "OR" searches instead of "AND" searches (and quotes are only useful for phrases)

Doesn’t do me much good when I am searching for "megan fox nude".

The best thing to happen to Google is Bing! I do like the new search feature.

If history is any indicator, the next step in the arms race will be to DRM our searches so that we cant share them with other people.

If they’re similar they don’t create contrast. Hurr durr.
10.13.2009
Well, there have to be at least one or two stories on the frontpage worse than Huffington Post (for contrast).
