This is a great step towards sharing massive amounts of data that is collected nowadays, but its still expensive and time consuming to process and catalog data to produce meaningful results. It would be great if they introduced cloud computing on this network so smaller or poorer establishments can get a slice of the massive computing power required for some of the research projects out there. Labs could then donate or request machines on the global cloud to make sure every computer thats available is being used at all times for Science!
