I know Wikipedia isn’t always correct. I’ll accept their definition though. An engine is a machine that produces mechanical force and motion from another form of energy (e.g. a fuel source, compressed air, or ELECTRICITY). – en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine

Wow! That was just too cute! That’s a highly mechanical art…..Waaaaant!

a solar powered engine is a contradiction of terms. Engines run on internal combustion/pressure, and motors run on electricity. Even the immensely creative and smart editors at make.com got this wrong. The video clearly shows a solar cell, connected to a motor which moves a mechanical contraption that loops like a steam engine.

Is there any point to the wine glasses?

Don’t bury syntaxgs. It’s not his fault. He’s just a friendly drunk

You are 100% correct. No internal combustion is needed for something to be called an engine. A sterling engine is one example. What is shown in the video is an engine even if it is being driven by a solar panel and an electric motor.

Dictionary: en·gine (ěn’jĭn) n. 1. A machine that converts energy into mechanical force or motion. Such a machine distinguished from an electric, spring-driven, or hydraulic motor by its use of a fuel.I’ll give it to you though, that phase isn’t in every dictionary.

Well as long as we’re being nerdy about it, I thing the etymology dictionaries can shed more light on the distinction. It seems to me that, although they’ve been used more interchangeably lately, "engine" is the more general term, meaning something that converts energy into mechanical force, while motor is specifically an engine that converts energy into motive force. In which case Make has it right, this is a solar engine, but not a motor.engine c.1300, from O.Fr. engin "skill, cleverness," also "war machine," from L. ingenium "inborn qualities, talent," from in- "in" + gen-, root of gignere "to beget, produce." At first meaning a trick or device, or any machine (especially military); sense of one that converts energy to mechanical power is 18c., especially of steam engines.motor 1447, from L. motor, lit. "mover," from movere "to move" (see move). From 15c. as "controller, prime mover" (in reference to God); sense of "agent or force that produces mechanical motion" is first recorded 1664; that of "machine that supplies motive power" is from 1856. With explosive use 20c. as a comb. form of motor-car. First record of motor-cycle attested 1896; motor-boat is from 1902. Motor-car is from 1895; motorist is from 1896. For motorcade (1913) see cavalcade. First record of slang motor-mouth "fast-talking person" is from 1971.

A stream powered pump in a wine class would be much more impressive.

He undoubtedly could make a Sterling cycle engine in a wineglass to really run on solar power.

Remarkable! modern technology now has the ability to create motors that run solely on solar power.I feel like i’ve seen such technology before, but certainly not with the exquisite music making ability of this!

I had got a dream to make my own organization, however I didn’t have got enough amount of money to do it. Thank heaven my colleague suggested to take the credit loans. Hence I took the bank loan and made real my dream.
