ZTE Corp announced today that it plans to launch smartphones operated by Microsoft’s Mango operating system by the third quarter in Europe. According to executives, they are already working on a Mango smartphone, and this device will be launched in Europe.
Microsoft announced an update of its Windows Phone software yesterday, which is now called Mango. The new software is promised to bring a host of new features in an attempt to close the gap between the company and its competitors, Google and Apple.
According to ZTE, the company expects to ship more than 80 million handsets this year, which is up by a third from last year’s 60 million handsets. They also stated that smartphones which run Google’s Android OS would rise to 12 million units this year, which is up from the 3 million units last year.
