Sprint announces HTC Arrive, Windows Phone 7 available for pre order

Those who suspected that Sprint would announce the new HTC Arrive, Windows Phone 7 in their special announcement were correct. On February 24, 2011, Sprint announced the first Windows Phone 7 from Sprint; the HTC Arrive would be available for pre order. The phone is expected to hit markets for retail sale on March 20, 2011.

Those who wish to purchase the HTC Arrive for the low, introductory price of $199.99 will need to sign up for a new line activation or be found eligible for an upgrade. They must also get an “Everything” plan with data plus, premium data add on and a two year agreement. Also, the $199.99 price is only valid after a $100.00 mail in rebate is activated.

Many techies knew that the big announcement would be the first Windows Phone 7 from Sprint as recent Tweets indicated the new phone would feature Xbox capabilities and a gaming hub. According to the announcement by Sprint, the HTC Arrive will feature a music and video hub with Zune, an Xbox LIVE app that is free, a free Netflix app, a people hub, live tiles on the screen so that you can instantly keep track of your activities and connections, seamlessly integrates Microsoft Office Mobile, a 5 megapixel camera that allows you to take photos and upload them without unlocking your phone and includes a QWERTY keyboard.

You can visit any Sprint store and purchase a $50.00 Sprint card as your deposit for the phone. The $50.00 Sprint gift card serves as your deposit and also adds your name to a list of preorders for when the phone goes on sale on March 20, 2011. After purchasing your gift card, go to a Sprint store on March 20, 2011 and you’ll be able to purchase the HTC Arrive at the special price.
