Droid 2 Global Gets Gingerbread Update

Great news has arrived for Motorola Droid 2 Global users, as they are now able to get the Gingerbread update for their mobile devices. Verizon has recently put up a page with instructions for users on downloading the new 103MB Gingerbread update. This Gingerbread update will take your device’s operating system from version 2.4.330 to 4.5.600.

Droid 2 Global users can also look for the new update under the About Phone menu and give permission to Verizon to start the update, if they are not interested in doing the update manually.

Some of the most noticeable changes in the new update include the fact that the static phone, contacts and apps icons at the bottom of the user interface have now been turned into a user-customizable dock, with three links of your choosing sliding up next to the App Launcher.

Droid 2 Global users will also find a new User Interface, a download manager application, user-definable App Group, encryption for data on the Droid 2 Global and on its SD cards, battery life improvements and much more.
