It looks like Google TV may get some attention again, as it was unveiled that the Mountain View company just acquired SageTV. SageTV’s HTPC software has been running media centers on multiple platforms since 2002.
According to a report, SageTV has long included DVR and placeshifting features in its products that Google TV products currently lack. Could this be an indication that Google plans to upgrade or improve its Google TV with the acquisition of SageTV?
There is currently no word on what Google plans to do with SageTV, but users of SageTV products have recently found that their store links on their SageTV’s page has suddenly stopped working.
We hope that Google will soon make an announcement as to how it plans to improve its Google TV with the acquisition of SageTV.
