Redbox announced that it has added game rentals to its arsenal at rental kiosks across the United States. Video game rentals had been available for a period of time at about 5,000 Redbox kiosks in the US, but this was only a beta phase.
The company will now add video games to an additional 16,000 kiosks this month.
Popular video game titles will be added to for Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation and Nintendo Wii consoles and will be available to consumers at $2 per day.
If a title is rented for 25 days, the company will charge a one-time fee of $50 for video games and the title no longer need to be returned.
