Many tech users may feel underwhelmed with Kobo’s new offer in an attempt to match Amazon’s lending library proposition. The company recently announced that, starting January, customers will have access to one free download of an e-book each month.
Some popular titles users will have access to include Pride and Prejudice, Star Wars vs Star Trek and more.
The new offer, however, will only be available to devices purchased between November 24 and March 31, 2012. Existing customers will not have access to the new offer.
The company is hoping that the ability to hold on to the titles indefinitely may cancel out Amazon’s free rental option.
Whether the new offer may indeed impact on new sales of the company’s e-reader remains to be seen.
