wikileaks removed from Apple

Apple Inc has become the latest of a growing number of U.S. corporations that have started breaking ties with controversial Wikileaks, by removing an application from its online store providing users access to the website’s content and Twitter Feed.

Apple cited a violation of its guidelines for the removal of the application.

Apple said in a statement that the WikiLeaks application was removed from the App Store as it violated the developer guidelines. Apple stated that all apps must comply with all local laws and may not put an individual or targeted group in harm’s way.

At the time of this article, only a description of the application was visible on Apple’s App Store.
