According to Samsung, only a “limited amount of customers” have been affected by the Galaxy S4 battery problems, but other reports seem to say something different.
“We are aware of this issue, which has affected a limited number of customers. We ask all affected customers to please visit their nearest Samsung Electronics service centre, where they can receive a replacement battery for free of charge. We remain committed to providing the best possible user experience for our customers.”
According to MobiFlip, a German mobile tech website, the Galaxy S4 battery problems are apparent in around 30% of units sold from German providers.
The actual details on numbers affected by these problems are currently unknown, and Samsung has not made an official report on just how many customers have had problems with their smartphone.
According to various Galaxy S4 owners, the problems include weakened battery life issues, completely non-rechargeable units and even swelling batteries.
With few reports here and there about exploding smartphones over the last few years, it’s pretty easy to see why Samsung may not reveal just how many batteries may be affected by this problem.
If you do notice any problems with your S4’s battery, you’ll be able to find a replacement for free in a Samsung Electronics service center.
In other news, Samsung have been working hard on a new flexible battery that could be explosion proof.
This could be just the perfect thing for future smartphone devices that have had a bad, and certainly quite dangerous history due to their unreliable battery packs.
This new battery could possibly be flexible, fireproof and be resistant to many different types of shocks and electrical damages.
