Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy S2 is the Best Smartphone of 2012. The thinnest phone of its time was recognized at the 17th Global Mobile Awards. A year after the release of what GMA judges call a “phenomenal success,” is Samsung ready to unveil its much awaited successor?

Talks about the Samsung Galaxy S3 emerged when “photos” of it were leaked by various sources. It looked much like Galaxy Note running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich – minus the touch buttons found on pre-ICS models. I’ve seen the photos myself and find their credibility questionable. They look like concept designs created by fans. Samsung was quick to deny these rumors, adding they weren’t even thinking of announcing it at the Mobile World Congress. Samsung was true to their word. The Galaxy S3 was a no-show at the event.

Now, there’s a new word going around the block – Samsung will announce their flagship phone this month and by April, the Galaxy S3 will be launched. ZDNet Korea was responsible for spreading these rumors. The website claims they were in talks with Cheil Worldwide, Samsung’s advertising and marketing firm. ZDNet Korea confirmed Samsung plans to launch a massive advertising campaign of Galaxy S3 in the UK.

Samsung Galaxy S2 is the most popular phone in the UK. And with Olympics 2012 taking place in London this summer, it seems like the perfect place and time to launch its successor isn’t it? Samsung hasn’t denied these rumors so far. Let’s hope they don’t. I’ve been itching to see what Sammy has in store for all of us.

Rumored specs of Samsung Galaxy S3 include a massive 4.8-inch display with HD resolution, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich covered up with Touchwiz, and a ceramic body.
