Black and White Nexus 5 Rumored for November 1 Launch

A series of new rumors and leaks suggest that both the black and white Nexus 5 models will be made available for purchase from November 1st onwards.

We first heard word of a white variant of the Nexus 5 after a photo of its alleged boxing was posted online by a fairly unknown source. However, since then @evleaks, a very trusted leaker, has revealed images and high resolution renders of both the black and white Nexus 5, so we can pretty much guarantee that a white variant will be available at some point, even if not at the same time as the black variant.

The white variant is similar to the white version of the Nexus 4 in that it has a white back cover, but its front cover is still black.

Although @evleaks hasn’t yet explained how or where they get their information from, they are almost always right when it comes to smartphone leaks and information, and not many smartphone outlets ever doubt what they have to say. This is really interesting because @evleaks have also posted a very short tweet that said “In white. 11/1,” which suggests that the white variant will be available on November 1st.

If this is true, then it’s likely both the black and white Nexus 5 will be released on the same date. It’s interesting to note that November is now only a couple of days away and we still haven’t even had an official statement from either Google or LG. Instead, it seems like both companies have let the increasing number of leaks and rumors do the talking and the advertising for them.

Perhaps Google are trying to keep quiet about the Nexus 5 so that it doesn’t run into the same stock problems that previous Nexus devices have run into at launch. In fact, the Nexus 4 suffered so badly from stock problems that many customers didn’t receive their pre-ordered handset until months after the pre-order date.
